Θρήνος για τους τρεις νεκρούς πυροσβέστες στην Ελλάδα, συλλυπητήρια Λογγίνου εκ μέρους της Κ.Δ.-«Η θυσία τους αποτελεί ύψιστη πράξη γενναιότητας»
Τα ειλικρινή και βαθύτατα συλλυπητήριά του προς το Πυροσβεστικό Σώμα της Ελλάδος και τις οικογένειες των τριών πυροσβεστών, oι οποίοι έχασαν τη ζωή τους εν ώρα καθήκοντος, επιχειρώντας στην αντιμετώπιση των μεγάλων πυρκαγιών, εξέφρασε ο Αρχιπύραρχος, Νίκος Λογγίνος.
Σε γραπτή του δήλωση ο εκπρόσωπος Τύπου της Πυροσβεστικής Υπηρεσίας, Ανδρέας Κεττής, αναφέρει ότι, «κατόπιν συνεννόησης με τον έντιμο υπουργό Δικαιοσύνης και Δημοσίας Τάξεως κ. Κώστα Φυτιρή, ο Αρχιπύραρχος κ. Νίκος Λογγίνος εξέφρασε, εκ μέρους της Κυπριακής Δημοκρατίας, της Πυροσβεστικής Υπηρεσίας Κύπρου αλλά και του του ίδιου προσωπικά, τα ειλικρινή και βαθύτατα συλλυπητήριά μας προς τον Αρχηγό του Πυροσβεστικού Σώματος Ελλάδος, Αντιστράτηγο Θεόδωρο Βάγια και στην οικογένεια της Πυροσβεστικού Σώματος της Ελλάδος, ως επίσης και στις οικογένειες των εκλιπόντων τριών συναδέλφων, οι οποίοι έχασαν τη ζωή τους εν ώρα καθήκοντος, επιχειρώντας στην αντιμετώπιση αγροτοδασικών πυρκαγιών».
Ο Αρχιπύραρχος δήλωσε πως, «η θυσία τους αποτελεί ύψιστη πράξη γενναιότητας, αφοσίωσης και αυταπάρνησης στην προστασία της ανθρώπινης ζωής, της περιουσίας και του φυσικού περιβάλλοντος. Η απώλειά τους βυθίζει σε θλίψη ολόκληρη τη διεθνή πυροσβεστική οικογένεια».
Παράλληλα ο κ. Λογγίνος πρόσθεσε ότι, «στεκόμαστε με σεβασμό και αλληλεγγύη δίπλα στο Ελληνικό Κράτος και το Πυροσβεστικό Σώμα Ελλάδος σε αυτές τις δύσκολες στιγμές και ευχήθηκε δύναμη και κουράγιο στους οικείους των εκλιπόντων και σε όλα τα μέλη του Πυροσβεστικού Σώματος».
Υπενθυμίζεται ότι, δύο άνδρες, ηλικίας 25 και 58 ετών, εγκλωβίστηκαν στο όχημά τους και βρήκαν τραγικό θάνατο στο νότιο Ρέθυμνο, ενώ ένας 27χρονος πυροσβέστης κατέρρευσε από παθολογικά αίτια στον Αγερανό Γυθείου.
Βαρύ πένθος στο Αμάρι του Ρεθύμνου και στο Αγρίνιο
Βαρύ είναι το πένθος στο Αμάρι του Ρεθύμνου για τον θάνατο των δύο πυροσβεστών που έχασαν τη ζωή τους κατά τη φονική πυρκαγιά στο Ρέθυμνο, όταν έχασαν τον προσανατολισμό τους και παγιδεύτηκαν στις φλόγες.
Πρόκειται για τον 58χρονο Μανώλη Στρατιδάκη και το 25χρονο Παντελή Διαμαντάκη που έπεσαν την ώρα του καθήκοντος.
Ο Διαμαντάκης μόλις είχε ολοκληρώσει τις σπουδές του στο Πανεπιστήμιο της Θεσσαλονίκης και ξεκίνησε να εργάζεται ως εποχικός πυροσβέστης, αναφέρει η patris.gr.
Mourning for the Three Firefighters Who Lost Their Lives in Greece: Chief Fire Officer Nikos Logginos Expresses the Sincere and Deepest Condolences of the Republic of Cyprus to the Chief of the Hellenic Fire Service
Mourning for the three firefighters who died in Greece – Logginos extends condolences on behalf of the Republic of Cyprus: “Their sacrifice is the highest act of courage.”
Chief Fire Officer Nikos Logginos expressed his sincere and deepest condolences to the Hellenic Fire Service and the families of the three firefighters who lost their lives in the line of duty while battling the devastating wildfires.
In a written statement, Fire Service spokesperson Andreas Kettis said that, “Following consultations with the Honourable Minister of Justice and Public Order, Mr. Kostas Fytiris, Chief Fire Officer Mr. Nikos Logginos conveyed, on behalf of the Republic of Cyprus, the Cyprus Fire Service, and personally, our sincere and deepest condolences to the Chief of the Hellenic Fire Service, Lieutenant General Theodoros Vagias, to the entire Hellenic Fire Service family, and to the families of our three fallen colleagues, who lost their lives in the line of duty while responding to wildland fires.”
Chief Fire Officer Logginos stated that, “Their sacrifice is the highest act of courage, dedication, and selflessness in the protection of human life, property, and the natural environment. Their loss has plunged the entire international firefighting community into mourning.”
Mr. Logginos further added that, “We stand with respect and solidarity beside the Greek State and the Hellenic Fire Service during these difficult times,” and wished strength and courage to the loved ones of the deceased and to all members of the Hellenic Fire Service.
It is recalled that two men, aged 25 and 58, became trapped in their vehicle and met a tragic death in southern Rethymno, while a 27-year-old firefighter collapsed from natural causes in Ageranos, near Gytheio.
Deep Mourning in Amari, Rethymno, and Agrinio
The community of Amari in Rethymno is in deep mourning following the deaths of the two firefighters who lost their lives during the deadly wildfire in Rethymno after losing their bearings and becoming trapped by the flames.
The two firefighters were 58-year-old Manolis Stratidakis and 25-year-old Pantelis Diamantakis, who fell while carrying out their duty.
Diamantakis had only recently completed his studies at the University of Thessaloniki and had begun working as a seasonal firefighter, according to patris.gr.
