Στο SkalaTimes θεωρούμε χρέος και υποχρέωση να αναδεικνύουμε τα ζητήματα που ταλαιπωρούν τους πολίτες και την πόλη μας. Μέσα σε αυτό το πνεύμα είχαμε δημοσιεύσει ρεπορτάζ τόσο για την εστία μόλυνσης στην περιοχή του λιμανιού, (εδώ) όσο και για την απαράδεκτη κατάσταση σε οικία με περίπου 40 σκύλους (εδώ).
Ωστόσο, οφείλουμε – όπως πράττουμε πάντα δημοσιογραφικά – να αποτυπώνουμε και τη συνέχεια των γεγονότων και τις εξελίξεις μετά τις αρχικές μας παρεμβάσεις.
Σύμφωνα με την εικόνα που διαμορφώνεται στην πράξη, τα προβλήματα έχουν πλέον λυθεί, έπειτα από την άμεση, δραστική και αποφασιστική παρέμβαση του Τμήματος Υγειονομικού του Δήμου Λάρνακας.
«Αντιλαμβάνεστε ότι δεν μπορούμε αυθαίρετα να προχωρούμε την ίδια ημέρα σε λύση ενός προβλήματος, καθώς είμαστε υποχρεωμένοι να ακολουθούμε τη νομοθεσία και τις προβλεπόμενες διαδικασίες. Στη μία περίπτωση έπρεπε πρώτα να ενημερωθεί ο ιδιοκτήτης του υποστατικού πριν την είσοδο συνεργείου του Δήμου, κάτι που κατέστη εφικτό την Κυριακή που μας πέρασε. Στη δεύτερη περίπτωση απαιτήθηκε παρέμβαση με τη συνδρομή της Αστυνομίας. Τα ζητήματα είναι σύνθετα και καταβάλλουμε κάθε δυνατή προσπάθεια, ακολουθώντας πάντα τις οδηγίες και τη νομοθεσία», ανέφερε πηγή από το Τμήμα Υγειονομικού του Δήμου Λάρνακας.

Well done to the Municipality of Larnaca for its swift and effective intervention
At SkalaTimes, we consider it both a duty and a responsibility to highlight issues that affect citizens and our city. In this spirit, we had published reports on both the pollution hotspot in the port area and the unacceptable conditions in a house housing approximately 40 dogs.
However, we are also obliged – as we always are in journalistic practice – to document the continuation of events and the developments following our initial reporting.
According to the situation as it has now unfolded in practice, the problems have been resolved following the swift, decisive, and effective intervention of the Sanitary Services Department of the Municipality of Larnaca.
“Please understand that we cannot arbitrarily resolve a problem on the same day, as we are required to follow the law and established procedures. In one case, the property owner first had to be notified before a municipal crew could enter the premises, which was made possible this past Sunday. In the second case, intervention with the assistance of the Police was required. These matters are complex, and we make every possible effort while always adhering to the relevant guidelines and legislation,” a source from the Sanitary Services Department of the Municipality of Larnaca stated.
SkalaTimes extends its appreciation to the staff of the Municipality of Larnaca for their prompt response and effective handling of these incidents, which had caused significant inconvenience to our fellow citizens.
