Μπορεί συχνά να εκφράζουμε παράπονα για την έντονη παρουσία του τσιμέντου στην πόλη και την ανάγκη για περισσότερο πράσινο, όμως μια βόλτα στο νέο κέντρο της Λάρνακας δείχνει ότι κάτι αρχίζει να αλλάζει.
Το πράσινο κάνει πλέον πιο αισθητή την παρουσία του στην καρδιά της πόλης και, με αφορμή αυτή την αλλαγή, απευθυνθήκαμε στο αρμόδιο τμήμα του Δήμου Λάρνακας, προκειμένου να δούμε τι λένε οι αριθμοί για τις νέες φυτεύσεις.
Στο έργο ανάπλασης του κέντρου της πόλης, που περιλαμβάνει την Πλατεία Ακροπόλεως, την Ερμού και την Ζήνωνος Κιτιέως, έχουν φυτευτεί ή προβλέπεται να φυτευτούν συνολικά:
- 69 δέντρα στην Α’ φάση
- 146 δέντρα στη Β’ φάση
- 90 δέντρα στη Γ’ φάση
Όσον αφορά τους ανθώνες, οι αντίστοιχες φυτεύσεις ανέρχονται σε:
- 133 ανθώνες στην Α’ φάση
- 120 ανθώνες στη Β’ φάση
- 20 ανθώνες στη Γ’ φάση
Με την ολοκλήρωση του έργου, το νέο κέντρο της Λάρνακας θα διαθέτει συνολικά 305 νέα δέντρα και 273 ανθώνες, συμβάλλοντας στη δημιουργία ενός πιο φιλικού, πιο δροσερού και πιο βιώσιμου αστικού περιβάλλοντος.
Για εμάς που επισκεπτόμαστε συχνά το κέντρο της πόλης, η αλλαγή είναι εμφανής και αναμένεται να γίνει ακόμη πιο αισθητή με την ολοκλήρωση όλων των εργασιών και την ανάπτυξη της νέας φύτευσης.
Μπράβο στον Δήμο Λάρνακας για αυτή την ελπιδοφόρα προσπάθεια. Χαιρόμαστε να βλέπουμε την πόλη μας να πρασινίζει και ευχόμαστε το πράσινο να συνεχίσει να αυξάνεται σε κάθε γωνιά της Λάρνακας και ολόκληρης της επαρχίας.
Larnaca is turning greener: 305 new trees and 273 flower beds in the city centre

We may often express complaints about the extensive presence of concrete in the city and the need for more greenery, but a walk through Larnaca’s new city centre shows that something is beginning to change.
Greenery is now becoming more visible in the heart of the city and, with this transformation in mind, we contacted the relevant department of the Larnaca Municipality to find out what the figures reveal regarding the new planting initiatives.
As part of the city centre regeneration project, which includes Acropolis Square, Ermou Street and Zenonos Kitieos Street, the following have been planted or are planned to be planted:
- 69 trees in Phase A
- 146 trees in Phase B
- 90 trees in Phase C
Regarding the flower beds, the corresponding plantings amount to:
- 133 flower beds in Phase A
- 120 flower beds in Phase B
- 20 flower beds in Phase C
Upon completion of the project, Larnaca’s new city centre will feature a total of 305 new trees and 273 flower beds, contributing to the creation of a more welcoming, cooler and more sustainable urban environment.
For those of us who frequently visit the city centre, the change is already evident and is expected to become even more noticeable once all works are completed and the new vegetation has fully developed.
Congratulations to the Municipality of Larnaca for this promising initiative. We are happy to see our city becoming greener and hope that greenery will continue to expand in every corner of Larnaca and throughout the entire district.
