Δύο σημαντικές διακρίσεις πέτυχε η ταινία «Κράτα Με» (Hold Onto Me), σε σκηνοθεσία της Κύπριας δημιουργού και σκηνοθέτιδας Μυρσίνης Αριστείδου, με την κατάκτηση του βραβείου Best Feature Fiction στο Los Angeles Greek Film Festival και την επιλογή της στο πρόγραμμα Belt and Road Film Week του Διεθνούς Φεστιβάλ Κινηματογράφου της Σαγκάης (Shanghai International Film Festival – SIFF).
Η ταινία πρόκειται επίσης να συμμετάσχει τον επόμενο μήνα στο αναγνωρισμένο διεθνώς Διεθνές Φεστιβάλ Κινηματογράφου το Karlovy Vary το μεγαλύτερο κινηματογραφικό φεστιβάλ της Τσεχίας και το σημαντικότερο του είδους του στην Κεντρική και Ανατολική Ευρώπη.
Σύμφωνα με Δελτίο Τύπου, στο Los Angeles Greek Film Festival, το «Κράτα Με» απέσπασε την κορυφαία διάκριση, το Βραβείο Ορφέας Καλύτερης Ταινίας Μυθοπλασίας (Orpheus Award for Best Feature Fiction). Ανακοινώνοντας το βραβείο, η κριτική επιτροπή χαρακτήρισε την ταινία ως «μια τρυφερή και βαθιά ανθρώπινη ταινία για τη λαχτάρα και τη βαθιά ανθρώπινη ανάγκη να μας βλέπουν και να μας αγαπούν. Κερδίζει τη συναισθηματική της δύναμη μέσα από τη λιτότητα, την αμεσότητα και την οικεία παρατήρηση των χαρακτήρων της, οδηγώντας σε μια συγκλονιστική τελική πράξη που αφήνει ανεξίτηλο αποτύπωμα, υπενθυμίζοντάς μας ότι το να μας βλέπουν, να μας αγαπούν και να συνδεόμαστε με τους άλλους είναι αυτό που μας ολοκληρώνει ως ανθρώπους.»
Αναφέρεται επίσης ότι η διάκριση αποτελεί ακόμη ένα σημαντικό επίτευγμα για την ταινία, η οποία συνεχίζει να αποσπά διεθνή αναγνώριση από την παγκόσμια πρεμιέρα της στο Φεστιβάλ Κινηματογράφου Sundance τον Ιανουάριο του 2026, όπου απέσπασε το Βραβείο Κοινού (Audience Award) στο διαγωνιστικό τμήμα World Cinema Dramatic Competition.
Η ταινία έχει ήδη παρουσιαστεί στο Sydney Film Festival στις αρχές Ιουνίου, καθώς και στο Seattle International Film Festival (SIFF) και το Istanbul Film Festival ( IKSV) αυτη την άνοιξη, το Κράτα Με (Hold Onto Me) ταξιδεύει αυτές τις ημέρες στην Κίνα, στο πλαίσιο του προγράμματος Belt and Road Film Week του Διεθνούς Φεστιβάλ Κινηματογράφου της Σαγκάης (Shanghai International Film Festival – SIFF), ενός από τα σημαντικότερα κινηματογραφικά γεγονότα της Ασίας.
Σε σχέση με την υπόθεση της ταινίας αναφέρεται ότι το «Κράτα Με» (Hold Onto Me) ακολουθεί την εντεκάχρονη Ίριδα, η οποία προσπαθεί να βρει τη θέση της ανάμεσα στη φιλία, την οικογένεια και το αίσθημα του να ανήκεις, όταν ανακαλύπτει ότι ο αποξενωμένος πατέρας της έχει επιστρέψει στην πόλη. Αυτό που ξεκινά ως μια αποφασιστική προσπάθεια να τον γνωρίσει καλύτερα, εξελίσσεται σε ένα βαθιά συγκινητικό ταξίδι σύνδεσης, αποδοχής και συμφιλίωσης.
Μετά τις επιτυχημένες προβολές της στο Sundance, στο Cyprus Film Days, στο Διεθνές Φεστιβάλ Κινηματογράφου της Σόφιας, στη Γουαδαλαχάρα, στο Σίδνεϊ και σε πολυάριθμα φεστιβάλ στον κόσμο, το Κράτα Με συνεχίζει να εδραιώνεται ως μία από τις πιο επιτυχημένες κυπριακές ταινίες των τελευταίων ετών, μεταφέροντας τον κυπριακό κινηματογράφο σε κοινά σε ολόκληρο τον κόσμο.
Η ταινία, με σεναριο και σκηνοθεσία της Μυρσίνης Αριστείδου γυρίστηκε εξ ολοκλήρου στην Κύπρο, σε παραγωγή των εταιρειών Filmblades Ltd και 1.61 Films, και σε συμπαραγωγή με τις εταιρείες Fredo Pictures και Graal S.A. Πρόκειται για μια διεθνή συμπαραγωγή μεταξύ Κύπρου, Ελλάδας και Δανίας, με τη συμμετοχή των Ηνωμένων Πολιτειών, η οποία αναπτύχθηκε από μια διεθνή δημιουργική ομάδα. Η ταινία έλαβε υποστήριξη απο το Υφυπουργείο Πολιτισμού της Κύπρου, το Δανέζικο Ινστιτούτο Κινηματογράφου, τον EKKOMEΔ, την ΕΡΤ και το Black Family Grant της NYU Tisch School of the Arts.

Award in Los Angeles and Shanghai for Myrsini Aristidou’s film “Hold Onto Me”
The film “Hold Onto Me”, directed by Cypriot filmmaker Myrsini Aristidou, has achieved two major distinctions, winning the Best Feature Fiction award at the Los Angeles Greek Film Festival and being selected for the Belt and Road Film Week program of the Shanghai International Film Festival (SIFF).
The film is also set to participate next month in the internationally renowned Karlovy Vary International Film Festival, the largest film festival in the Czech Republic and the most important of its kind in Central and Eastern Europe.
According to a press release, at the Los Angeles Greek Film Festival, “Hold Onto Me” received the top distinction, the Orpheus Award for Best Feature Fiction. Announcing the award, the jury described the film as “a tender and deeply human film about longing and the profound human need to be seen and loved. It gains its emotional power through simplicity, immediacy, and intimate observation of its characters, leading to a striking final act that leaves an indelible mark, reminding us that being seen, loved, and connected to others is what completes us as human beings.”
It is also noted that this distinction marks another significant achievement for the film, which continues to receive international recognition following its world premiere at the Sundance Film Festival in January 2026, where it won the Audience Award in the World Cinema Dramatic Competition section.
The film has already been presented at the Sydney Film Festival in early June, as well as at the Seattle International Film Festival (SIFF) and the Istanbul Film Festival (IKSV) this spring. Hold Onto Me is currently traveling in China as part of the Belt and Road Film Week program of the Shanghai International Film Festival (SIFF), one of the most important film events in Asia.
Regarding the film’s plot, “Hold Onto Me” follows 11-year-old Iris, who tries to find her place between friendship, family, and a sense of belonging when she discovers that her estranged father has returned to the city. What begins as a determined attempt to get to know him better evolves into a deeply moving journey of connection, acceptance, and reconciliation.
Following successful screenings at Sundance, Cyprus Film Days, the Sofia International Film Festival, Guadalajara, Sydney, and numerous festivals worldwide, Hold Onto Me continues to establish itself as one of the most successful Cypriot films of recent years, bringing Cypriot cinema to audiences around the world.
The film, written and directed by Myrsini Aristidou, was shot entirely in Cyprus and produced by Filmblades Ltd and 1.61 Films, in co-production with Fredo Pictures and Graal S.A. It is an international co-production between Cyprus, Greece, and Denmark, with participation from the United States, developed by an international creative team. The film received support from the Deputy Ministry of Culture of Cyprus, the Danish Film Institute, EKKOMED, ERT, and the Black Family Grant of NYU Tisch School of the Arts.
The producers of the film are Monica Nicolaidou, Myrsini Aristidou, Anders N.U., Konstantina Stavrianou, and Rena Voyioukalou.
