Βανδαλισμοί και πάλι σε γλυπτό της Αντρούλας Αντωνιάδου από το Πάρκο Καλλιτεχνών «Μεσόγειος» στη Λάρνακα. Για δεύτερη φορά μέσα σε έναν μήνα, σύμφωνα με σημερινή ανάρτηση της καλλιτέχνιδας Αντρούλας Αντωνιάδου στα μέσα κοινωνικής δικτύωσης, στόχος βανδαλισμού έγινε ακόμη ένα έργο της, το οποίο είχε δωρηθεί στον Δήμο Λάρνακας και βρίσκεται τοποθετημένο στο Πάρκο Καλλιτεχνών «Μεσόγειος».
Όπως διαπιστώθηκε, άγνωστοι επιχείρησαν να αποσπάσουν το γλυπτό από τη βάση του. Αν και δεν κατάφεραν να το μετακινήσουν πλήρως, προκάλεσαν ζημιές, αποκολλώντας τμήμα του έργου, το οποίο βρέθηκε πεσμένο στο έδαφος δίπλα στη βάση του.
Το περιστατικό επαναφέρει στο προσκήνιο το ζήτημα της προστασίας των έργων δημόσιας τέχνης, καθώς και την ανάγκη λήψης αποτελεσματικότερων μέτρων για τη διαφύλαξη της πολιτιστικής κληρονομιάς και των καλλιτεχνικών παρεμβάσεων που κοσμούν τους δημόσιους χώρους της πόλης.
Ο Δήμος Λάρνακας, με δεδομένα τα δύο περιστατικά μέσα σε διάστημα ενός μήνα, καλείται να προχωρήσει άμεσα στη λήψη μέτρων ενίσχυσης της ασφάλειας των έργων.
Vandalism again on a sculpture by Androula Antoniadou at the “Mediterranean” Artists’ Park in Larnaca

Vandalism has once again targeted a sculpture by Androula Antoniadou at the “Mediterranean” Artists’ Park in Larnaca. For the second time within a month, according to a recent social media post by the artist, another one of her works—donated to the Municipality of Larnaca and installed at the park—has been subjected to vandalism.
As it was discovered, unknown individuals attempted to detach the sculpture from its base. Although they did not manage to fully displace it, they caused damage by breaking off a part of the artwork, which was found lying on the ground next to its base.
The incident once again brings to the forefront the issue of protecting public artworks, as well as the need for more effective measures to safeguard cultural heritage and artistic interventions that enhance the city’s public spaces.
Given the two incidents within the span of one month, the Municipality of Larnaca is called upon to take immediate action to strengthen the security of the artworks.
