Στο πλαίσιο της τακτικής συνεργασίας, ενημέρωσης και συντονισμού μεταξύ του Δήμου Λάρνακας και της Κοινοτικής Αστυνομίας Λάρνακας, πραγματοποιήθηκε την Τρίτη, 14 Ιουλίου 2026, συνάντηση εργασίας μεταξύ του Δημάρχου Λάρνακας κ. Ανδρέα Βύρα και εκπροσώπων της Κοινοτικής Αστυνομίας.
Κατά τη διάρκεια της συνάντησης συζητήθηκαν θέματα που αφορούν την περαιτέρω ενίσχυση του Θεσμού του Παρατηρητή της Γειτονιάς, καθώς και η διαρκής συνεργασία μεταξύ Δήμου, Αστυνομίας και δημοτών για την ενίσχυση της πρόληψης, της έγκαιρης ενημέρωσης και της ασφάλειας στις γειτονιές της Λάρνακας.
Παράλληλα, πραγματοποιήθηκε ανταλλαγή απόψεων σχετικά με τις δυνατότητες αξιοποίησης σύγχρονων τεχνολογικών εργαλείων και ψηφιακών μέσων, με στόχο τη βελτίωση της επικοινωνίας, της ενημέρωσης και της συνεργασίας μεταξύ των αρμόδιων υπηρεσιών και των δημοτών, προς όφελος της τοπικής κοινωνίας.
Ο Δήμαρχος Λάρνακας κ. Ανδρέας Βύρας επανέλαβε τη σημασία της στενής συνεργασίας όλων των εμπλεκόμενων φορέων, επισημαίνοντας ότι η συνεχής ανταλλαγή απόψεων, ο συντονισμός και η αξιοποίηση σύγχρονων εργαλείων μπορούν να συμβάλουν ουσιαστικά στην αναβάθμιση των υπηρεσιών προς τους δημότες και στην ενίσχυση του αισθήματος ασφάλειας.
Στη συνάντηση συμμετείχαν ο Δημοτικός Γραμματέας, ο Αρχισυντονιστής του Θεσμού του Παρατηρητή της Γειτονιάς, Αστυνομικοί της Γειτονιάς, καθώς και εθελοντής του Θεσμού.
Utilizing Technology for the Benefit of Citizens at the Centre of a Meeting Between Larnaca Municipality and Community Police
As part of the ongoing cooperation, information exchange and coordination between the Municipality of Larnaca and the Larnaca Community Police, a working meeting was held on Tuesday, 14 July 2026, between the Mayor of Larnaca, Mr Andreas Vyras, and representatives of the Community Police.
During the meeting, issues concerning the further strengthening of the Neighbourhood Watch Institution were discussed, as well as the continuous cooperation between the Municipality, the Police and citizens, with the aim of enhancing prevention, timely information sharing and safety in Larnaca’s neighbourhoods.
At the same time, views were exchanged regarding the possibilities of utilizing modern technological tools and digital means, with the aim of improving communication, information flow and cooperation between the competent services and citizens, for the benefit of the local community.
The Mayor of Larnaca, Mr Andreas Vyras, reiterated the importance of close cooperation among all relevant bodies, noting that the continuous exchange of views, coordination and the use of modern tools can contribute substantially to upgrading services provided to citizens and strengthening the sense of security.
The meeting was attended by the Municipal Secretary, the Chief Coordinator of the Neighbourhood Watch Institution, Community Police Officers, as well as a volunteer of the Institution.
