Λίγο η θάλασσα, λίγο οι πιο χαλαροί ρυθμοί, λίγο τα «νέα» που δεν μας αφήνουν να αγιάσουμε, λίγο οι συζητήσεις με φίλους με καφέ ή με καρπούζι, λίγο ο Αύγουστος που μοιάζει με μήνα προάγγελο νέας χρονιάς (εντάξει, για κάποιους από εμάς ο Σεπτέμβρης θα είναι πάντα η νέα χρονιά, λες και είμαστε ακόμη μαθητές), λίγο λοιπόν όλα αυτά και άλλα τόσα, το μυαλό καθαρίζει και οι μπαταρίες γεμίζουν…..
Και μπορεί ένα καθαρό μυαλό να σκεφτεί το Κανακικό (από τον Αντώνη Κανάκη) «τι ζούμε ρε φίλε!» και η απάντηση με δυο λόγια είναι «ζούμε τον αφανισμό της λογικής, μια κανονική ημέρα» (το «κανονική ημέρα» λίγο κλεμμένο κι αυτό από τον Αντώνη — από τίτλο βιβλίου του).
Έχω δικαίωμα να επιθυμώ τα ονόματα των γονιών μου πάνω στις ταυτότητες ή τα ονόματα εμένα και του συζύγου μου στις ταυτότητες των παιδιών μας, χωρίς να είμαι «φασισταριό, αγράμματος» και διάφορα άλλα επίθετα.
Μπορεί να σέβομαι τα σύνορα μιας χώρας και να θεωρώ σωστό να υπάρχουν κανόνες όπου προκύπτει μεταναστευτικό πρόβλημα, χωρίς να είμαι ακροδεξιός, ρατσιστής και άλλα τέτοια ωραία.
Μπορεί να πιστεύω στον Θεό και να είμαι και μορφωμένος, όπως πολλοί διάσημοι μορφωμένοι πιστεύουν στον Θεό. Όπως επίσης μπορεί να είμαι αριστερή και φεμινίστρια και να πιστεύω και στον Θεό με βαθιά πίστη. (Τα παραδείγματα είναι πολλά, βαριέμαι να τα γράψω, κάντε Google search να δείτε ονόματα).
Τα δογματικά έχουν απορριφθεί εδώ και χρόνια από όσους διαβάζουν βιβλία ή, τέλος πάντων, από όσους διαβάζουν βιβλία χωρίς παρωπίδες, με ανοιχτό μυαλό.
Στο κάτω κάτω, το έχει πει και ένας γνωστός θεωρητικός (δεν γράφω όνομα μην τρομάξετε): «Η θεωρία δεν είναι ένα δόγμα, αλλά ένας οδηγός για δράση», η όποια θεωρία! Και οι θεωρίες διαμορφώνονται ανάλογα με το πλαίσιο και τα δεδομένα της εποχής.
Αυτός ο παροξυσμός (εντός και εκτός social media) και ο αφανισμός κάθε λογικής, στο όνομα του μοντέρνου κόσμου, όπου όποιος δεν συμφωνεί με μια άποψη του μοντέρνου κόσμου αμέσως βρίζεται και τον διακοσμούν με τους χειρότερους χαρακτηρισμούς, είναι μια απλή επιστροφή στον Μεσαίωνα, με οδηγούς κάποιους τύπους που χαρακτηρίζονται μοντέρνοι και προοδευτικοί!
Ας συμφωνήσουμε πως ο πλουραλισμός είναι επιθυμητός, όσο δεν καταπατά ανθρώπινα δικαιώματα του διπλανού. Ας συμφωνήσουμε πως είναι βασικό χαρακτηριστικό της δημοκρατίας να εκφράζονται απόψεις (όσο δεν καταπατούν ανθρώπινα δικαιώματα του διπλανού).
Και, τέλος, ας συμφωνήσουμε επίσης πως σε αυτόν τον παράλογο παροξυσμό του μοντέρνου αυτού κόσμου ο καθένας έχει δικαίωμα να επιλέξει τον δρόμο που προστάζει η λογική, η ψυχή, η καρδιά, οι εμπειρίες, οι αξίες, ο νους, η ύπαρξή του τέλος πάντων, αλλά με μία μόνο προϋπόθεση: να μάθουμε όλοι να σεβόμαστε τον διπλανό μας, γιατί πιο ωραία από όλους τα έχει πει ο Ρίτσος: «εμείς άλλον εχθρό δεν έχουμε παρά μόνο αυτόν που δεν σέβεται τον άνθρωπο».

The Disappearance of Common Sense, Just Another Normal Day….

A little bit of the sea, a little bit of slower rhythms, a little bit of the “news” that never lets us find peace, a little bit of conversations with friends over coffee or watermelon, a little bit of August, which feels like a month heralding the beginning of a new year (okay, for some of us September will always be the new year, as if we are still students), a little bit of all these things and many more… and the mind clears while the batteries recharge…..
And a clear mind can think of what I like to call the “Kanakis moment” (from Antonis Kanakis): “What on earth are we living through, my friend!” And the answer, in a few words, is: “We are living through the disappearance of logic, just another normal day” (the phrase “normal day” is also slightly borrowed from Antonis — from the title of one of his books).
I have the right to want my parents’ names on my identity cards, or my name and my husband’s name on our children’s identity cards, without being labelled a “fascist”, “ignorant” and various other things.
I can respect a country’s borders and believe that rules should exist whenever a migration issue arises, without being far-right, racist, or any of those other wonderful labels people are so quick to use.
I can believe in God and also be educated, just as many well-educated and famous people believe in God. Likewise, I can be a left-wing woman and a feminist and still believe in God with deep faith. (There are many examples; I cannot be bothered to write them all down — do a Google search and look at the names.)
Dogmatism has been rejected for years by those who read books or, at the very least, by those who read books without blinders, with an open mind.
After all, even a well-known theorist has said it (I will not write the name, so you do not panic): “Theory is not a dogma, but a guide to action” — any theory! And theories evolve according to the context and the realities of each era.
This frenzy (both inside and outside social media) and the disappearance of all logic, in the name of the modern world, where anyone who disagrees with a particular view of this modern world is immediately insulted and decorated with the worst possible labels, is nothing more than a simple return to the Middle Ages — led by people who describe themselves as modern and progressive!
Let us agree that pluralism is desirable, as long as it does not violate the human rights of the person next to us. Let us agree that a fundamental characteristic of democracy is the expression of opinions (as long as they do not violate the human rights of the person next to us).
And finally, let us also agree that, in this irrational frenzy of today’s modern world, everyone has the right to choose the path dictated by their logic, their soul, their heart, their experiences, their values, their mind — their very existence, after all — with only one condition: that we all learn to respect the person next to us, because Ritsos expressed it more beautifully than anyone else: “We have no other enemy but the one who does not respect the human being.”
