Ένα νέο κεφάλαιο ανοίγει για τη Λάρνακα, καθώς η ίδρυση και λειτουργία της νέας Σχολής του Τεχνολογικού Πανεπιστημίου Κύπρου (ΤΕΠΑΚ) στην πόλη αποτελεί πλέον γεγονός. Η εξέλιξη αυτή θεωρείται ιδιαίτερα σημαντική για την ενίσχυση της τριτοβάθμιας εκπαίδευσης, της έρευνας και της καινοτομίας στην επαρχία, ενώ αναμένεται να συμβάλει ουσιαστικά στην οικονομική, κοινωνική και αναπτυξιακή πορεία της Λάρνακας.
Με αφορμή αυτή τη σημαντική εξέλιξη, ο Δήμαρχος Λάρνακας, Ανδρέας Βύρας, με ανάρτησή του εκφράζει την ικανοποίησή του για την υλοποίηση ενός οράματος που, όπως αναφέρει, σχεδιάστηκε και στηρίχθηκε με επιμονή, κάνοντας λόγο για μια ιστορική στιγμή που ενισχύει τον ρόλο της Λάρνακας ως σύγχρονου ακαδημαϊκού και αναπτυξιακού κέντρου.

Η νέα Σχολή του Τεχνολογικού Πανεπιστημίου Κύπρου στη Λάρνακα πήρε πλέον σάρκα και οστά και ξεκινά τη δική της διαδρομή στην πόλη μας.
Ένα όραμα που συζητήθηκε, σχεδιάστηκε και στηρίχθηκε με επιμονή, γίνεται σήμερα πραγματικότητα. Η παρουσία του ΤΕΠΑΚ στη Λάρνακα ενισχύει ουσιαστικά τον ακαδημαϊκό, ερευνητικό και αναπτυξιακό ρόλο της πόλης μας, δημιουργώντας νέες προοπτικές για τους νέους, την εκπαίδευση, την καινοτομία και την τοπική κοινωνία.
Θερμές ευχαριστίες στον Πρύτανη του ΤΕΠΑΚ, Παναγιώτη Ζαφείρη, και σε όλους όσοι εργάστηκαν για να φτάσουμε σε αυτή τη σημαντική μέρα.
Η Λάρνακα αλλάζει, προχωρά και διεκδικεί τον ρόλο που της αξίζει.

Larnaca Gains a New Academic Identity with the Opening of the CUT School
A new chapter begins for Larnaca as the establishment and launch of the new School of the Cyprus University of Technology (CUT) in the city has now become a reality. This development is considered a major milestone for strengthening higher education, research, and innovation in the district, and is expected to make a significant contribution to Larnaca’s economic, social, and developmental progress.
Commenting on this important achievement, Larnaca Mayor Andreas Vyras expressed his satisfaction in a social media post over the realization of a vision that, as he noted, was carefully discussed, planned, and pursued with determination. He described it as a historic moment that further reinforces Larnaca’s role as a modern academic and development hub.

A vision that was discussed, carefully planned, and steadfastly supported has today become a reality. The presence of CUT in Larnaca substantially strengthens our city’s academic, research, and development role, creating new opportunities for young people, education, innovation, and the local community.
My sincere thanks go to the Rector of CUT, Panayiotis Zaphiris, and to everyone who worked tirelessly to make this important day possible.
Larnaca is changing, moving forward, and claiming the role it deserves.
