Ο Δημοκρατικός Συναγερμός δεν άντεξε να κρύβεται και να προσποιείται. Επιβεβαιώθηκε κι επίσημα σήμερα ότι η ηγεσία του ΔΗΣΥ θα παραμείνει στον θλιβερό ρόλο του δικηγόρου και υπερασπιστή του Αναστασιάδη. Ο Αναπληρωτής Πρόεδρος του ΔΗΣΥ, Ευθύμιος Δίπλαρος, σε παρέμβαση του στο ΟΜΕΓΑ απεφάνθη ότι οι απαντήσεις του Νίκου Αναστασιάδη είναι πειστικές και ότι τα ευρήματα της Αρχής είναι ατεκμηρίωτοι ισχυρισμοί. Με ανάλογη σοβαρότητα, η Αντιπρόεδρος του ΔΗΣΥ, Φωτεινή Τσιρίδου μιλώντας στο ΡΙΚ, έφτασε στο σημείο να ισχυριστεί ότι το ΑΚΕΛ είναι εκτός δημοκρατικού τόξου, επειδή απαιτεί κάθαρση και παραίτηση του ΓΕ και ΒΓΕ.
Σε κάθε περίπτωση, το ΑΚΕΛ διαμηνύει προς κάθε κατεύθυνση ότι αυτή η υπόθεση δεν είναι μάχη μεταξύ κομμάτων, ούτε είναι αντιπαράθεση μεταξύ του Ν. Αναστασιάδη και του πρώην συνεργάτη του, Μ. Δρουσιώτη. Είναι μάχη της κοινωνίας απέναντι στο σύστημα Αναστασιάδη, το γαϊτανάκι δηλαδή διαπλοκής και συγκάλυψης. Είναι η αναμέτρηση του κράτους δικαίου που θέλουμε για τον τόπο μας με το «κράτος-μαφία» που στήθηκε από την περασμένη δεκαετία. Είναι μάχη καθολικά του κυπριακού λαού απέναντι σε μια διαπλεκόμενη ελίτ που απομυζά τον τόπο.
AKEL: DISY Remains in the Sad Role of Defending Nicos Anastasiades
The Democratic Rally (DISY) could no longer continue hiding and pretending. It was officially confirmed today that the party’s leadership intends to remain in the regrettable role of lawyer and defender of Nicos Anastasiades.
DISY Deputy President, Efthymios Diplaros, speaking on OMEGA TV, declared that Nicos Anastasiades’ explanations are convincing and that the findings of the Authority are merely unsubstantiated allegations. Displaying a similar level of seriousness, DISY Vice President Fotini Tsiridou, speaking on RIK, went so far as to claim that AKEL falls outside the democratic spectrum because it is demanding accountability and the resignation of the Attorney General and the Deputy Attorney General.
In any case, AKEL wishes to make it clear in every direction that this matter is not a battle between political parties, nor is it a dispute between Nicos Anastasiades and his former associate, Makarios Drousiotis. It is a battle between society and the Anastasiades system—a revolving cycle of corruption, collusion, and cover-ups.
It is a confrontation between the rule of law that we want for our country and the “mafia state” that was built over the past decade. It is a struggle involving the entire Cypriot people against a connected elite that continues to exploit and drain the country’s resources.
