Άμεση συνάντηση με την Εύη Τσολάκη ζητά ο δήμαρχος Λάρνακας για το καυτό θέμα
Άμεση συνάντηση με τη νέα Υπουργό Μεταφορών, Επικοινωνιών και Έργων Εύη Τσολάκη θα ζητήσει ο δήμαρχος Λάρνακας. Η κα Τσολάκη διαδέχεται τον Αλέξη Βαφεάδη, ο οποίος έχει αποχωρήσει από το κυβερνητικό σχήμα και αναλαμβάνει την καυτή πατάτα που λέγεται λιμάνι και μαρίνα της Λάρνακας. Κληθείς να σχολιάσει τον διορισμό, ο δήμαρχος Ανδρέας Βύρας συνεχάρη την κα Τσολάκη, αλλά ταυτόχρονα ξεκαθάρισε ότι η πόλη απαιτεί πλήρη υλοποίηση όλων όσων έχουν συμφωνηθεί για το μεγάλο έργο του λιμανιού και της μαρίνας, το οποίο είναι πρώτο σε προτεραιότητα και θα είναι νούμερο ένα στη συνάντηση με τη νέα υπουργό.
«Αναμένουμε πλήρη υλοποίηση του οδικού χάρτη που παρουσίασε ο κύριος Βαφεάδης, χωρίς παρεκκλίσεις και άλλες καθυστερήσεις. Ευχόμαστε στην κυρία Τσολάκη κάθε επιτυχία στο έργο της, μεγάλο μέρος του οποίου είναι η ανάπτυξη του λιμανιού και της μαρίνας της Λάρνακας. Είμαστε στη διάθεσή της ανά πάσα στιγμή για συνεννόηση και συνεργασία, με βασικό γνώμονα ότι η Λάρνακα δεν έχει περιθώρια για άλλες καθυστερήσεις για το έργο. Το συντομότερο θα ζητήσω συνάντηση μαζί της για να συζητήσουμε το θέμα, το οποίο επείγει για μας», δήλωσε στη «Χ» ο δήμαρχος Λάρνακας, σε μια πρώτη αντίδραση για την αλλαγή σκυτάλης στο υπουργείο που χειρίζεται το μεγάλο έργο της Λάρνακας.
Ο Οδικός Χάρτης που αφήνει στο γραφείο της νέας υπουργού ο Αλέξης Βαφεάδης παρουσιάστηκε στη Λάρνακα στις 2 Ιουλίου και προβλέπει συνολικά έργα αξίας 415 εκατομμυρίων ευρώ, τα οποία, ωστόσο, κατανέμονται σε ορίζοντα 20ετίας σε ό,τι αφορά ενδεχόμενη στρατηγική επέκταση του λιμένα. Το θετικό είναι ότι προτείνεται άμεση έναρξη των πρώτων αναπτύξεων από το 2027 και εκτεταμένες χερσαίες αναπτύξεις, που είναι κάτι που απαιτεί η πόλη. Με βάση τον Οδικό Χάρτη, προβλέπονται τρία Υποέργα, τα οποία αφορούν στην αναβάθμιση του λιμανιού, τη λιμενική αναβάθμιση της μαρίνας και τις χερσαίες αναπτύξεις στον χώρο ανάμεσα στη μαρίνα και το λιμάνι.
Συνολικά, ο Οδικός Χάρτης ξεκινά το 2027 και λήγει το 2045 με έργα στρατηγικής επέκτασης του λιμανιού, αλλά πολλές από τις αναπτύξεις θα υλοποιηθούν την πενταετία 2027-2031, εάν φυσικά υπάρξει συμφωνία και με τις Αρχές της Λάρνακας.
Σε ό,τι αφορά στα χερσαία έργα, κοστολογούνται στα 190 εκατομμύρια ευρώ και χωροθετούνται σε έκταση 85 χιλιάδων τετραγωνικών μέτρων, αρχής γενομένης το 2027, με τον εξωραϊσμό των υφιστάμενων χώρων και την προσωρινή σύνδεση με την πλατεία Ευρώπης. Ακολουθούν οι βασικές υποδομές και μετά οι αναπτύξεις λιανικού εμπορίου, ξενοδοχειακές εγκαταστάσεις, συνεδριακό κέντρο, εκθεσιακοί χώροι και Ναυτικός Όμιλος μέχρι το 2031, κατά κύριο λόγο.
Το υποέργο Β’ είναι η ανάπλαση και ανάπτυξη της μαρίνας, η οποία ξεκινά με συντήρηση των υφιστάμενων υποδομών τη διετία 2027-2028 και ακολουθεί η κατασκευή του νέου κτιρίου Υπηρεσιών την τετραετία 2029-2031. Προβλέπονται επίσης νέο νότιο κρηπίδωμα και νέες πλωτές αποβάθρες μέχρι το 2036, ενώ διευκρινίζεται ότι για τις εμπορικές χρήσεις θα υπάρξει κατά πάσα πιθανότητα συνεργασία με τον ιδιωτικό τομέα.
Τέλος, σε ό,τι αφορά στο υποέργο Γ’, που είναι ο εκσυγχρονισμός και η ανάπτυξη του λιμανιού, η πρόταση προβλέπει άμεση αναβάθμιση των υφιστάμενων υποδομών μέχρι το 2029 και ακολούθως προβλέπονται νέα κτίρια διοίκησης και επιβατών μέχρι το 2036 και, πιο μακροπρόθεσμα, νέο νοτιοδυτικό και νέο βορειοδυτικό κρηπίδωμα μέχρι το 2041, νέος κυματοθραύστης και νέα λιμενολεκάνη μέχρι το 2041 και επέκταση του νότιου κρηπιδώματος μέχρι το 2045.

Larnaca Mayor Seeks Immediate Meeting with Evi Tsolaki over Hot-Button Issue
The Mayor of Larnaca will seek an immediate meeting with the new Minister of Transport, Communications and Works, Evi Tsolaki. Ms Tsolaki succeeds Alexis Vafeadis, who has left the government and takes on the hot potato that is Larnaca’s port and marina. Asked to comment on her appointment, Mayor Andreas Vyras congratulated Ms Tsolaki, while at the same time making it clear that the city demands the full implementation of everything that has been agreed regarding the major port and marina project, which is the top priority and will be number one on the agenda of his meeting with the new minister.
“We expect the full implementation of the roadmap presented by Mr Vafeadis, without deviations or further delays. We wish Ms Tsolaki every success in her work, a major part of which will involve the development of Larnaca’s port and marina. We are at her disposal at any time for consultation and cooperation, with the fundamental consideration that Larnaca has no room for any further delays to the project. I will request a meeting with her as soon as possible to discuss the matter, which is urgent for us,” the Mayor of Larnaca told X in an initial reaction to the change of leadership at the ministry responsible for Larnaca’s major project.
The Roadmap that Alexis Vafeadis leaves on the new minister’s desk was presented in Larnaca on July 2 and provides for total projects worth €415 million. However, these are spread over a 20-year period insofar as a potential strategic expansion of the port is concerned. The positive aspect is that it proposes the immediate commencement of the first developments in 2027, as well as extensive land-based developments, which is something the city is calling for. Based on the Roadmap, three Subprojects are planned, concerning the upgrading of the port, the port-side upgrading of the marina, and land-based developments in the area between the marina and the port.
Overall, the Roadmap begins in 2027 and runs until 2045, with strategic port expansion projects. However, many of the developments are expected to be implemented during the five-year period from 2027 to 2031, provided, of course, that an agreement is also reached with the Larnaca authorities.
As regards the land-based projects, these are estimated to cost €190 million and will cover an area of 85,000 square metres, beginning in 2027 with the refurbishment of the existing areas and a temporary connection to Europe Square. This will be followed by basic infrastructure and then retail developments, hotel facilities, a conference centre, exhibition spaces and a Nautical Club, mainly by 2031.
Subproject B concerns the redevelopment and development of the marina. It will begin with the maintenance of the existing infrastructure during 2027–2028, followed by the construction of a new Services Building during the four-year period from 2029 to 2031. A new southern quay and new floating pontoons are also planned by 2036, while it is clarified that commercial uses will most likely involve cooperation with the private sector.
Finally, Subproject C concerns the modernisation and development of the port. The proposal provides for the immediate upgrading of the existing infrastructure by 2029, followed by new administration and passenger buildings by 2036. In the longer term, a new south-western and a new north-western quay are planned by 2041, along with a new breakwater and new harbour basin by 2041, and an extension of the southern quay by 2045.
