Ο Δήμαρχος Λάρνακας κ. Ανδρέας Βύρας είχε συνάντηση με τα παιδιά της Σχολής Χορού Mambo της Μαρίας Ζαχαρίου Καραπίττα, με αφορμή τη συμμετοχή τους στο UDO World Street Dance Championships 2026, που θα πραγματοποιηθεί τον Αύγουστο στο Μπλάκπουλ της Αγγλίας.
Η Σχολή Χορού Mambo θα εκπροσωπήσει τη Λάρνακα και την Κύπρο στο κορυφαίο παγκόσμιο πρωτάθλημα Street Dance, στο οποίο συμμετέχουν πέραν των 55 χωρών και περίπου 10.000 χορευτές. Η αποστολή της σχολής αποτελεί τη μεγαλύτερη κυπριακή συμμετοχή με 27 παιδιά ηλικίας 6-13 ετών και τη μοναδική συμμετοχή από σχολή χορού με έδρα τη Λάρνακα.
Προς τιμή της πόλης μας, στις φανέλες μετακίνησης και πρόβας των παιδιών θα αναγράφεται το μήνυμα «Larnaka Cyprus», προβάλλοντας διεθνώς το όνομα της Λάρνακας.
Ο Δήμαρχος συνεχάρη τα παιδιά και τη διεύθυνση της σχολής για τη σημαντική αυτή επιτυχία, τους ευχήθηκε καλή πορεία στη διεθνή διοργάνωση και τα παρότρυνε να συνεχίσουν να κυνηγούν τα όνειρά τους, προβάλλοντας με περηφάνια τη Λάρνακα και την Κύπρο.
«Είναι χαρά μας να υποδεχόμαστε νέους και νέες που ασχολούνται με τον χορό και τον πολιτισμό. Ο πολιτισμός είναι ο καθρέφτης μιας κοινωνίας και τέτοιες προσπάθειες αναδεικνύουν το ταλέντο και τη δημιουργικότητα της νέας γενιάς», ανέφερε ο κ. Βύρας.
Ο Δήμος Λάρνακας εύχεται στη Σχολή Χορού Mambo και στα παιδιά της αποστολής κάθε καλό στο UDO World Street Dance Championships 2026, εκφράζοντας την περηφάνια του για τη σημαντική αυτή εκπροσώπηση της πόλης μας σε διεθνές επίπεδο.
Mayor of Larnaka Congratulates Mambo Dance School on Its International Participation in the UDO World Street Dance Championships 2026
The Mayor of Larnaka, Mr. Andreas Vyras, met with the students of Mambo Dance School, led by Maria Zachariou Karapitta, ahead of their participation in the UDO World Street Dance Championships 2026, which will take place this August in Blackpool, England.
Mambo Dance School will represent both Larnaka and Cyprus at the world’s premier Street Dance championship, an event that attracts participants from more than 55 countries and approximately 10,000 dancers. The school’s delegation is the largest Cypriot team competing this year, comprising 27 children aged 6 to 13, and is the only participating dance school based in Larnaka.
In tribute to the city, the words “Larnaka Cyprus” will be printed on the team’s travel and training jerseys, promoting the city’s name on an international stage.
Mayor Vyras congratulated the children and the school’s management on this remarkable achievement. He wished them every success in the international competition and encouraged them to continue pursuing their dreams while proudly representing Larnaka and Cyprus.
“It is always a pleasure to welcome young people who are engaged in dance and culture. Culture is the reflection of a society, and initiatives like this showcase the talent and creativity of the younger generation,” Mr. Vyras said.
