Στις 2 Ιουλίου συνεδριάζει η Επιτροπή Ανάπτυξης Πόλης και Επαρχίας Λάρνακας, με αντικείμενο την παρουσίαση και συζήτηση του οδικού χάρτη για την ανάπτυξη του Λιμανιού και της Μαρίνας Λάρνακας, όπως αυτός θα κατατεθεί από την Αρχή Λιμένων Κύπρου.
Πρόκειται για μια ιδιαίτερα σημαντική συνεδρία, κατά την οποία τα μέλη της Επιτροπής καλούνται να εξετάσουν δεδομένα που αφορούν καθοριστικά το μέλλον της πόλης και την πορεία ενός από τα μεγαλύτερα αναπτυξιακά έργα της επαρχίας.
Ιδιαίτερο ενδιαφέρον προκαλεί το περιεχόμενο του οδικού χάρτη που θα παρουσιάσει η ΑΛΚ, καθώς και το κατά πόσο θα υπάρξει σαφής αναφορά στο ύψος του απαιτούμενου κονδυλίου, αλλά και στον τρόπο εξασφάλισής του. Παράλληλα, αναμένονται διευκρινίσεις σε σχέση με τη συνολική στρατηγική και τη σύνδεση του έργου με άλλες μεγάλες παρεμβάσεις που υλοποιεί το κράτος και η ΑΛΚ, όπως στο Βασιλικό και στο Λατσί.
Το SkalaTimes διατηρεί επιφυλάξεις ως προς τις εξελίξεις, ωστόσο η τελική εικόνα θα ξεκαθαρίσει στη συνεδρίαση της 2ας Ιουλίου. Ευχή όλων είναι να υπάρξουν θετικές εκπλήξεις που θα δώσουν νέα προοπτική στο έργο.
Η Λάρνακα δεν αντέχει άλλο την παρατεταμένη στασιμότητα και την αίσθηση καθυστέρησης σε έργα κομβικής σημασίας για το μέλλον της.
Critical Meeting on Larnaca Port–Marina: The “Roadmap” That Will Determine the City’s Future on the Table

On July 2, the Larnaca District Development Committee will convene to present and discuss the roadmap for the development of the Larnaca Port and Marina, as submitted by the Cyprus Ports Authority.
This is a highly significant meeting, during which committee members are expected to examine data that is crucial to the future of the city and the progress of one of the largest development projects in the district.
Particular interest is being drawn by the content of the roadmap to be presented by the Cyprus Ports Authority, as well as whether there will be a clear reference to the required funding amount and the way it will be secured. At the same time, clarifications are expected regarding the overall strategy and the project’s connection with other major interventions currently being implemented by the state and the Cyprus Ports Authority, such as those in Vasiliko and Latchi.
SkalaTimes remains cautious regarding developments; however, the final picture is expected to become clear at the July 2 meeting. The hope is that there will be positive surprises that will give the project a new perspective.
Larnaca can no longer endure prolonged stagnation and the ongoing sense of delay in projects of critical importance for its future.
