Το Εμπορικό και Βιομηχανικό Επιμελητήριο Λάρνακας (ΕΒΕΛ) είχε τη χαρά να υποδεχθεί στα γραφεία του την Παρασκευή 10 Ιουλίου 2026, την Επίτροπο Ισότητας των Φύλων, κα. Τζόζη Χριστοδούλου στο πλαίσιο συνάντησης εργασίας με τον Πρόεδρο του ΕΒΕΛ Δρ. Νάκη Αντωνίου.
Κατά τη διάρκεια της συνάντησης πραγματοποιήθηκε εποικοδομητικός διάλογος για θέματα που αφορούν την προώθηση της ισότητας των φύλων στον επιχειρηματικό κόσμο, την ενίσχυση της συμμετοχής των γυναικών στην επιχειρηματικότητα και σε θέσεις λήψης αποφάσεων, καθώς και την υιοθέτηση καλών πρακτικών που συμβάλλουν στη δημιουργία ενός σύγχρονου και συμπεριληπτικού εργασιακού περιβάλλοντος.
Ο Πρόεδρος του ΕΒΕΛ Δρ. Νάκης Αντωνίου επαναβεβαίωσε τη δέσμευσή του Δ.Σ. του Επιμελητηρίου να στηρίζει πρωτοβουλίες που προάγουν την ισότητα, τις ίσες ευκαιρίες και τη βιώσιμη ανάπτυξη της επιχειρηματικής κοινότητας. Παράλληλα, επισημάνθηκε η σημασία της στενής συνεργασίας μεταξύ των θεσμών για την ανάπτυξη δράσεων που ενισχύουν τη γυναικεία επιχειρηματικότητα και συμβάλλουν στην άρση των στερεοτύπων και των εμποδίων που εξακολουθούν να υφίστανται.
Από την πλευρά της, η Επίτροπος Ισότητας των Φύλων κα. Τζόζη Χριστοδούλου εξέφρασε την ικανοποίησή της για τη συνάντηση και υπογράμμισε τον καθοριστικό ρόλο που μπορούν να διαδραματίσουν οι επιχειρηματικοί φορείς στην προώθηση πολιτικών ισότητας και στη διαμόρφωση μιας κουλτούρας ίσων ευκαιριών στους χώρους
εργασίας.
Η συνάντηση ολοκληρώθηκε με κοινή διαπίστωση ότι η συνεργασία μεταξύ του ΕΒΕΛ και του Γραφείου της Επιτρόπου μπορεί να συμβάλει ουσιαστικά στην προώθηση δράσεων που ενισχύουν την ισότητα των φύλων και τη συμμετοχή όλων στην οικονομική και κοινωνική ανάπτυξη της χώρας.

Visit of the Commissioner for Gender Equality to the Larnaca Chamber of Commerce and Industry (EBEL)
The Larnaca Chamber of Commerce and Industry (EBEL) had the pleasure of welcoming to its offices, on Friday, 10 July 2026, the Commissioner for Gender Equality, Ms. Tzoveni (Jozy) Christodoulou, as part of a working meeting with the President of EBEL, Dr. Nakis Antoniou.
During the meeting, a constructive dialogue took place on issues concerning the promotion of gender equality in the business sector, the strengthening of women’s participation in entrepreneurship and decision-making positions, as well as the adoption of good practices that contribute to creating a modern and inclusive working environment.
The President of EBEL, Dr. Nakis Antoniou, reaffirmed the commitment of the Chamber’s Board of Directors to supporting initiatives that promote equality, equal opportunities, and the sustainable development of the business community. At the same time, the importance of close cooperation between institutions was highlighted, with the aim of developing actions that strengthen women’s entrepreneurship and contribute to eliminating stereotypes and barriers that continue to exist.
For her part, the Commissioner for Gender Equality, Ms. Tzoveni (Jozy) Christodoulou, expressed her satisfaction with the meeting and emphasised the crucial role that business organisations can play in promoting equality policies and shaping a culture of equal opportunities in the workplace.
The meeting concluded with a shared recognition that cooperation between EBEL and the Office of the Commissioner can make a substantial contribution to promoting actions that enhance gender equality and the participation of all citizens in the country’s economic and social development.
