Με λαμπρότητα και χριστιανική κατάνυξη τιμήθηκε η Αγία Ειρήνη Χρυσοβαλάντου στα Λιβάδια
Με κάθε λαμπρότητα και μέσα σε κλίμα χριστιανικής κατάνυξης τιμήθηκε και φέτος, τη Δευτέρα 27 Ιουλίου, η μνήμη της Αγίας Ειρήνης Χρυσοβαλάντου, στο ομώνυμο παρεκκλήσιο που βρίσκεται στο προαύλιο του Ιερού Ναού Αγίου Σάββα, στα Λιβάδια. Μετά την τέλεση του Μέγα Πανηγυρικού Εσπερινού, ακολούθησε, παρουσία πλήθους πιστών, η λιτάνευση της Ιερής Εικόνας της Αγίας, καθώς και η ευλογία των μήλων, σύμφωνα με το έθιμο της εορτής. Των ιερών ακολουθιών προέστη ο Αρχιμανδρίτης Πανάρετος Κυπριανού. Το πρωί της Τρίτης 28 Ιουλίου τελέστηκαν ο Όρθρος και η Πανηγυρική Θεία Λειτουργία, ενώ το βράδυ ακολούθησε ο Παρακλητικός Κανόνας προς την Αγία Ειρήνη Χρυσοβαλάντου.
Οι εκκλησίες και τα παρεκκλήσια των Λιβαδιών
Αξίζει να σημειωθεί ότι το παρεκκλήσιο της Αγίας Ειρήνης Χρυσοβαλάντου βρίσκεται πίσω από τον Ιερό Ναό Αγίου Σάββα. Στον ίδιο χώρο βρίσκονται επίσης τα παρεκκλήσια του Αγίου Ιούδα του Θαδδαίου και του Αγίου Παϊσίου, αποτελώντας έναν σημαντικό χώρο προσευχής και πνευματικής αναφοράς για τους κατοίκους και τους επισκέπτες της περιοχής.
Τα Λιβάδια έχουν την ιδιαίτερη ευλογία να διαθέτουν αρκετούς ιερούς ναούς και παρεκκλήσια, τα οποία αποτελούν αναπόσπαστο κομμάτι της θρησκευτικής και πολιτιστικής κληρονομιάς της περιοχής.
Στο κέντρο του χωριού βρίσκεται ο Ιερός Ναός της Αγίας Παρασκευής, γύρω από τον οποίο αυτή την περίοδο πραγματοποιούνται εργασίες ανανέωσης και ανάπλασης του πυρήνα του χωριού.
Στον προσφυγικό συνοικισμό δεσπόζει ο Ιερός Ναός των Αγίων Τριών Ιεραρχών, ενώ ένα από τα παλαιότερα εκκλησάκια των Λιβαδιών είναι το παρεκκλήσιο της Αγίας Αναστασίας της Φαρμακολυτρίας, το οποίο βρίσκεται λίγο πιο κάτω από το Pavlisio.
Και, βεβαίως, στα Λιβάδια βρίσκεται και το παρεκκλήσιο του Χρυσοσώτηρος της Ακανθού, ένας ακόμη ιερός χώρος που συνδέει την περιοχή με την πλούσια θρησκευτική παράδοση και την ιστορική μνήμη του τόπου.
Όλοι αυτοί οι ιεροί χώροι αποτελούν ζωντανά σημεία πίστης και παράδοσης και μαρτυρούν τη βαθιά σχέση των κατοίκων των Λιβαδιών με την Ορθόδοξη Εκκλησία και την πνευματική κληρονομιά του τόπου.
Saint Irene Chrysovalantou Celebrated with Splendour and Christian Devotion in Livadia
With great splendour and in an atmosphere of Christian devotion, the feast day of Saint Irene Chrysovalantou was celebrated once again this year, on Monday, July 27, at the chapel dedicated to the Saint, located in the courtyard of the Church of Saint Savvas in Livadia.
Following the celebration of the Great Festal Vespers, a large number of faithful took part in the procession of the Holy Icon of Saint Irene, followed by the blessing of the apples, in accordance with the tradition associated with the feast. The services were presided over by Archimandrite Panaretos Kyprianou.
On Tuesday morning, July 28, Matins and the Festal Divine Liturgy were celebrated, while in the evening the Paraklesis (Supplication Canon) to Saint Irene Chrysovalantou was held.
The Churches and Chapels of Livadia
It is worth noting that the chapel of Saint Irene Chrysovalantou is located behind the Church of Saint Savvas. The chapels of Saint Jude Thaddeus and Saint Paisios are also located in the same area, making it an important place of prayer and spiritual reflection for residents and visitors alike.
Livadia has the particular blessing of being home to several churches and chapels, which form an integral part of the religious and cultural heritage of the area.
At the centre of the village stands the Church of Saint Paraskevi, around which renovation and redevelopment works are currently taking place as part of the revitalisation of the village centre.
In the refugee settlement stands the prominent Church of the Three Hierarchs, while one of the oldest chapels in Livadia is the chapel of Saint Anastasia the Pharmakolytria, located a little further down from Pavlisio.
Livadia is also home to the Chapel of Chrysosotiras of Akanthou, another sacred place that connects the area with its rich religious tradition and the historical memory of its people.
All these sacred places remain living expressions of faith and tradition, bearing witness to the deep connection of the people of Livadia with the Orthodox Church and the spiritual heritage of the area.
