ΑΝΑΚΟΙΝΩΣΗ ΑΚΕΛ
Λένε όλοι ψέματα εκτός από τον τέως Πρόεδρο της Δημοκρατίας και τον Επίτιμο Πρόεδρο του ΔΗΣΥ Νίκο Αναστασιάδη
Στη σημερινή δημοσιογραφική του διάσκεψη ο τέως Πρόεδρος της Δημοκρατίας και Επίτιμος Πρόεδρος του Δημοκρατικού Συναγερμού κ. Νίκος Αναστασιάδης ξόδεψε σχεδόν μια ώρα για να πείσει ότι όλοι λένε ψέματα εκτός από τον ίδιο.
Η Αρχή κατά της Διαφθοράς, τα διεθνή δημοσιογραφικά δίκτυα, ο διεθνής τύπος, όσοι τόλμησαν να υποδείξουν ότι επί των ημερών του η θεσμική διαπλοκή και η θεσμική διαφθορά απογειώθηκαν, λένε όλοι ψέματα.
Κατά τον κ. Αναστασιάδη είναι όλα ψέματα, όπως ψέματα ήταν τα ταξίδια και οι συναλλαγές με σαουδάραβα μεγιστάνα, ψέματα η εμπλοκή του δικηγορικού του γραφείου με το σκάνδαλο των χρυσών διαβατηρίων.
Το ερώτημα είναι ποιος- εκτός από την ηγεσία του ΔΗΣΥ και τον συνεχιστή του Νίκο Χριστοδουλίδη- απέμεινε να τον πιστεύει.
Το ΑΚΕΛ απαιτεί να υπάρξει κάθαρση. Απαιτεί αμερόληπτη και αδιάβλητη έρευνα όλων των ευρημάτων της Αρχής Κατά της Διαφθοράς και προσαγωγή των υπόπτων στη Δικαιοσύνη. Αυτό προϋποθέτει την άμεση παραίτηση του Γ. Σαββίδη και του Σ. Αγγελίδη από τις θέσεις του Γενικού Εισαγγελέα και Βοηθού Γενικού Εισαγγελέα.
Μόνο έτσι θ’ ανοίξει ο δρόμος για να αποκατασταθεί επιτέλους η αξιοπιστία των θεσμών και η λειτουργία του κράτους δικαίου στον τόπο.

AKEL Statement
They claim that everyone is lying except for the former President of the Republic and Honorary President of DISY, Nicos Anastasiades.
In today’s press conference, the former President of the Republic and Honorary President of the Democratic Rally (DISY), Mr. Nicos Anastasiades, spent almost an hour trying to convince everyone that all others are lying—except himself.
The Anti-Corruption Authority, international media networks, the international press, and all those who dared to point out that during his tenure institutional entanglement and institutional corruption reached unprecedented levels, are all allegedly lying.
According to Mr. Anastasiades, everything is false—just as false as the trips and dealings with a Saudi magnate, and just as false as the involvement of his law firm in the “golden passports” scandal.
The question is who—apart from the leadership of DISY and his successor, Nicos Christodoulides—still believes him.
AKEL demands cleansing and accountability. It calls for an impartial and transparent investigation of all findings of the Anti-Corruption Authority and for those suspected to be brought before justice. This requires the immediate resignation of G. Savvides and S. Angelides from their positions as Attorney General and Deputy Attorney General.
Only in this way will the path open for the restoration of the credibility of institutions and the proper functioning of the rule of law in the country.
