Ένα καλά μελετημένο πλάνο υλοποίησαν οι συντελεστές του μονταρισμένου οπτικού υλικού, μέσω του οποίου παρουσιάζεται το αφήγημα περί ύπαρξης μηχανισμού διαφθοράς στο Προεδρικό.
Αρκούντως ενδεικτική είναι η προσέγγιση που έκαναν στον εκτελεστικό διευθυντή του ομίλου Cyfield, Γιώργο Χρυσοχό. Τον προσέγγισαν υπό το πρόσχημα της επένδυσης €150 εκατ. στον τομέα της ενέργειας.
Έργο Βασιλικού
Το υποτιθέμενο ενδιαφέρον τους ήταν για το έργο της Cyfield στο Βασιλικό και συγκεκριμένα ο ιδιωτικός σταθμός παραγωγής ρεύματος, ο οποίος, σύμφωνα με τα όσα είχαν προαναγγελθεί από τον κυπριακό όμιλο, επρόκειτο να παράγει ηλεκτρική ενέργεια φθηνότερη κατά 40% από την ΑΗΚ.
Με άλλα λόγια, ήταν καλά διαβασμένοι και όπως προκύπτει από τα γεγονότα πήγαν με στοχευμένο ερωτηματολόγιο γνωρίζοντας ότι ο όμιλος, όπως και άλλες εταιρικές οντότητες, κάνει εισφορές στο πλαίσιο της εταιρικής κοινωνικής του ευθύνης στηρίζοντας προγράμματα του Προεδρικού.
Η συνάντηση μεταξύ του κ. Χρυσοχού και προσώπου από την ολλανδική εταιρεία επενδύσεων, κατά τη διάρκεια της οποίας καταγράφηκε το επίμαχο οπτικοακουστικό υλικό, έγινε τον περασμένο Νοέμβριο στο Λονδίνο. Προηγήθηκε ακόμη μια επαφή με τον κ. Χρυσοχό που είχε το ίδιο θέμα.
Ανατολική Ευρώπη
Η συνάντηση στην αγγλική πρωτεύουσα είχε διάρκεια δύο ωρών. Στο πλαίσιο αυτής έγινε συζήτηση για διάφορα ζητήματα. Ένας εκ των συμμετεχόντων στο σχέδιο της υποκλοπής του υλικού, παρουσιάστηκε στον κ. Χρυσοχό με όνομα, το οποίο προσομοιάζει με ρουμανικό. Η δε προφορά του θύμιζε υπήκοο χώρας της ανατολικής Ευρώπης.
Σύμφωνα με τα όσα του ειπώθηκαν, το όνομα της εταιρείας που διαχειρίζεται το επενδυτικό ταμείο ήταν «Stratix». Μια ονομασία που χρησιμοποιούν κι άλλοι εταιρικοί οργανισμοί.

A carefully thought-out plan was implemented by the creators of the edited visual material, through which a narrative suggesting the existence of a corruption mechanism within the Presidential Palace is presented.
The approach they made to the CEO of the Cyfield Group, Giorgos Chrysochos, is particularly indicative. They approached him under the pretext of a €150 million investment in the energy sector.
Vasiliko project
Their supposed interest concerned Cyfield’s project in Vasiliko, specifically the private power generation station which, according to prior announcements by the Cypriot group, was expected to produce electricity at a cost 40% lower than that of the Electricity Authority of Cyprus (EAC).
In other words, they were well prepared and, as the facts suggest, they proceeded with a targeted questionnaire, knowing that the group, like other corporate entities, makes contributions as part of its corporate social responsibility, supporting programs of the Presidential Palace.
The meeting between Mr. Chrysochos and an individual from a Dutch investment company—during which the controversial audiovisual material was recorded—took place last November in London. It was preceded by another contact with Mr. Chrysochos on the same subject.
Eastern Europe
The meeting in the British capital lasted two hours. During this time, various issues were discussed. One of those involved in the plan to illicitly record the material introduced himself to Mr. Chrysochos using a name that resembled a Romanian one. His accent also suggested a citizen of an Eastern European country.
According to what he told Mr. Chrysochos, the name of the company managing the investment fund was “Stratix,” a name also used by other corporate entities.
