Ανεξέλεγκτα φαίνεται ότι δρα το οργανωμένο έγκλημα στη Λάρνακα, όπως καταδεικνύουν τα τελευταία γεγονότα που σημειώθηκαν στην πόλη.
Η κάμερα του Σίγμα βρέθηκε στην πόλη του Ζήνωνα, καταγράφοντας την ανησυχία και τον προβληματισμό των πολιτών για την κατάσταση.
Ένας πολίτης δήλωσε ότι «η εγκληματικότητα είναι μεγάλη στη Λάρνακα, φοβούμαστε να πάρουμε τα εγγόνια μας στη παραλία λόγω των αλλοδαπών. Τα χθεσινά συμβάντα φοβηθήκαμε περισσότερο γιατί ήταν κοντά στην Αστυνομία και δεν μπορούσε κανένας να επέμβει. Δύο φορές μπήκαν στο μαγαζί μου, σαν τρώγαμε μπήκαν μέσα και με λήστεψαν. Υπάρχουν οι φατριές που η Αστυνομία τους ξέρει. Δεν επεμβαίνουν».
Άλλος πολίτης τόνισε ότι «κάτι πρέπει να κάνουν. Δεν φοβάμαι για μένα αλλά για τα μωρά μου».
Ένας άλλος ανέφερε ότι «η Λάρνακα ήταν η πιο ήσυχη πόλη και τώρα έγινε η χειρότερη λόγω των παράνομων και δεν υπάρχει Κυβέρνηση να τους ελέγξει. Ο Δήμαρχος μας εχτές μίλησε πολύ ωραία. Όπως πάει, θα καταστραφεί η Λάρνακα και νιώθουμε ανασφάλεια».
«Δεν μπορούμε να κυκλοφορούμε όπως πριν, κάτι πρέπει να γίνει με την Αστυνομία», πρόσθεσε άλλος πολίτης.
Μία πολίτης σχολίασε ότι «παλιότερα ήταν καλύτερα στη Λάρνακα, πλέον δεν μπορούμε να πάμε Φοινικούδες και υπάρχουν περιοχές που τις αποφεύγουμε».

Alarmed Larnaca residents: “We can’t move around like we used to”
Organised crime appears to be operating unchecked in Larnaca, as indicated by the latest incidents that have taken place in the city.
Sigma TV’s camera was in the city of Zeno, recording citizens’ concern and anxiety over the situation.
One resident stated that “crime is high in Larnaca. We’re afraid to take our grandchildren to the beach because of foreigners. Yesterday’s incidents frightened us even more because they happened near the Police station and no one could intervene. They broke into my shop twice—while we were eating, they came in and robbed me. There are gangs that the Police know about. They don’t intervene.”
Another citizen stressed that “something has to be done. I’m not afraid for myself, but for my babies.”
Another resident said that “Larnaca used to be the quietest city, and now it has become the worst because of illegal migrants, and there is no Government to control them. Our Mayor spoke very well yesterday. At this rate, Larnaca will be destroyed and we feel unsafe.”
“We can’t move around like we used to; something must be done with the Police,” another citizen added.
A female resident commented that “in the past things were better in Larnaca. Now we can’t go to Finikoudes, and there are areas we avoid altogether.”
