Το τηλεφώνημα φίλης και αναγνώστριας του SkalaTimes δεν αφήνει πολλά περιθώρια αισιοδοξίας για την κατάσταση που επικρατεί στη Λάρνακα, όπου η εγκληματικότητα φαίνεται να βρίσκεται σε έξαρση.
Μαχαιρώματα σε γειτονιές με παιδιά, οικογένειες και πολίτες που κινούνται ανυποψίαστοι στην καθημερινότητά τους.
Όπως μας περιέγραψε η ίδια, το περιστατικό σημειώθηκε γύρω στις 5 το απόγευμα, σε περιοχή της Φανερωμένης, κοντά σε νηπιαγωγείο.
«Ήμουν με το παιδί μου, περίπου 10 ετών, όταν πήγαμε σε κατάστημα της περιοχής. Δεν είδα ποιοι τον μαχαίρωσαν. Οι κάτοικοι μου είπαν ότι πέρασε ένα πράσινο αυτοκίνητο, κατέβηκαν κάποια άτομα, τον μαχαίρωσαν και έφυγαν», ανέφερε στο SkalaTimes.
Ο τραυματίας, αιμόφυρτος, δέχθηκε βοήθεια από τους κατοίκους της περιοχής, ενώ στο σημείο αναμενόταν η άφιξη αστυνομίας και ασθενοφόρου.
«Το ασθενοφόρο άργησε να φτάσει, χάθηκε στον δρόμο. Αναρωτιέται κανείς, δεν έχουν GPS; Όταν ενημέρωσα την αστυνομία ότι στο έδαφος υπήρχαν κλειδιά με αίματα, η απάντηση που έλαβα ήταν πως “δεν μπορούμε να κάνουμε κάτι, πρέπει να έρθει το ΤΑΕ”. Από τη στιγμή που υπήρχε ενημέρωση για μαχαίρωμα, γιατί δεν ήρθε εξαρχής το ΤΑΕ; Δεν θα υποδείξω εγώ πώς θα κάνει η Αστυνομία τη δουλειά της, όμως δυστυχώς υποψιάζομαι ότι υπάρχει μια ερασιτεχνική διαχείριση», δήλωσε χαρακτηριστικά.
Το να διαπράττονται μαχαιρώματα «μέρα μεσημέρι», μέσα στις γειτονιές μας, δεν είναι ούτε φυσιολογικό ούτε αποδεκτό!
Είτε τα κίνητρα σχετίζονται με ναρκωτικά, (όπως ακούγεται έντονα), είτε με οποιαδήποτε άλλη μορφή εγκληματικότητας, απαιτείται άμεση και ουσιαστική δράση – τώρα.
Ο κόμπος έχει φτάσει στο χτένι. Μια πόλη με τόσα πολλά προβλήματα δεν αντέχει και την ανεξέλεγκτη έξαρση της βίας και του εγκλήματος.
Stabbings in Broad Daylight in Larnaca Neighbourhoods
Testimony of a mother who witnessed yesterday’s incident

A phone call from a friend and reader of SkalaTimes leaves little room for optimism regarding the situation in Larnaca, where criminal activity appears to be on the rise.
Stabbings taking place in neighbourhoods with children, families and unsuspecting citizens going about their daily lives.
According to her account, the incident occurred at around 5:00 p.m. in the Faneromeni area, near a kindergarten.
“I was with my child, about 10 years old, when we went to a shop in the area. I did not see who stabbed him. Residents told me that a green car passed by, some individuals got out, stabbed him and then fled,” she told SkalaTimes.
The injured man, bleeding heavily, was assisted by local residents, while police and an ambulance were expected at the scene.
“The ambulance took a long time to arrive; it got lost on the way. One wonders—don’t they have GPS? When I informed the police that there were blood-stained keys on the ground, the response I received was that ‘we can’t do anything; the CID (TAE) must come.’ Since the authorities had been informed about a stabbing, why wasn’t the CID dispatched immediately? I am not here to instruct the police on how to do their job, but unfortunately I suspect there is a degree of amateur handling,” she stated.
The fact that stabbings are being carried out “in broad daylight” within our neighbourhoods is neither normal nor acceptable.
Whether the motives are related to drugs—as is strongly rumoured—or to any other form of criminal activity, immediate and decisive action is required—now.
Enough is enough. A city already burdened with so many problems cannot withstand an uncontrolled surge in violence and crime.
