Μια από τις πλέον δημοφιλείς και δυναμικές πολιτικές συνεργασίες οδηγήθηκε σε διάλυση και σύγκρουση, λίγους μόνο μήνες προτού συμπληρωθεί η τρίτη πενταετία τηςσυμπόρευσης. Ο λόγος για τη συνεργασία του ΑΚΕΛ με την Ειρήνη Χαραλαμπίδου, που λήγει επεισοδιακά, την ώρα που το όνομα τηςπολιτικού «παίζει» όχι μόνο για τις βουλευτικές εκλογές του Μαίου, αλλά και για την προεδρία τηςΒουλής ακόμη και την προεδρία τηςΔημοκρατίας για το 2028, ανκαι η ίδια κρατά ερμητικά κλειστά τα χαρτιά της.
Η βουλεύτρια που πορεύτηκε υπό την ομπρέλα των Νέων Δυνάμεων, για τρείς κοινοβουλευτικές θητείες, στη συνέντευξή της στο «Φ» επιστρέφει τα πυρά στην Εζεκία Παπαϊωάννου. Ανοίγει όλες τις «πληγές» για να τονίσει με αποδέχτη την ηγεσία του ΑΚΕΛ πως: «Η αντίδραση τους ήταν όντως ακραία και απέβλεπε σε κομματική περιχαράκωση. Tο περιεχόμενο της ανακοίνωσης ήταν εξευτελιστικό» και την λύπησε. Η κ. Χαραλαμπίδου τονίζει πως οι πολίτες την ψήφιζαν, όχι γιατί ήταν πειθήνιο όργανο της ηγεσίας, αλλά γιατί είχε άποψη και τολμούσε να διαχωρίσει τη θέση της αν αυτό έκρινε απαραίτητο. Υποστηρίζει πως αποδεικνύεται ότι η πρόταση του ΑΚΕΛ, έγινε απλώς για λόγους άλλοθι προς την κομματική βάση και περιορισμού της όποιας ζημιάς. Δηλώνει δικαιωμένη για την στάση που τήρησε έναντι τηςυποψηφιότητας Μαυρογιάννη και επιμένει ότι η πολεμική που δέχεται άρχισε από την άρνησή της να στηρίξει υποψηφιότητα Παμπορίδη στιςπροηγούμενες προεδρικές εκλογές.
-Σκληρή με χαρακτηρισμούς βαριούς η αντίδραση του ΠΓ του ΑΚΕΛ. Θέτετε τον εαυτό σας απέναντι από το κόμμα αναφέρεται. Ήταν αναπόφευκτη τελικά η σύγκρουση;
–Η σύγκρουση δεν ήταν δική μου επιλογή, ούτε ζήτησα ανεξαρτητοποίηση, αντίθετα είχα δημόσια δηλώσει ότι θα κάνω ότι μου ζητήσει η ηγεσία για να τους διευκολύνω από σεβασμό στον κόσμο της Αριστεράς. Η αντίδραση τους ήταν όντως ακραία και απέβλεπε σε κομματική περιχαράκωση. Tο περιεχόμενο της ανακοίνωσης ήταν εξευτελιστικό. Με λύπησε. Να σκέφτεται κανείς ελεύθερα, ανεξάρτητα, χωρίς κομματικές παρωπίδες δεν είναι ανηθικότητα είναι ευθύνη απέναντι στην κοινωνία και την συνείδηση του καθενός . Δεν ήμουν σε θέση να τους απαντήσω αν θα επέλεγα να εγκαταλείψω την πολιτική γιατί αυτό μου ζητούσαν να πράξω. Τίμησα το συμβόλαιο μου με το ΑΚΕΛ , αλλά συνεργασία είχαμε. Δεν είμαι κομματικό στέλεχος. Αποφάσισαν οι ίδιοι ότι δεν είμαι χρήσιμη πια. Δικαίωμα τους. Οι πολίτες με ψήφιζαν, όχι γιατί ήμουν πειθήνιο όργανο της ηγεσίας. Πάντα είχα άποψη και τολμούσα να διαχωρίσω τη θέση μου αν έκρινα ότι ήταν απαραίτητο.

One of the most popular and dynamic political alliances has led to rupture and confrontation, just a few months before completing the third five-year term of their joint course. The reference is to the cooperation between ΑΚΕΛ and Irene Charalambidou, which is ending turbulently, at a time when the politician’s name is being discussed not only for the parliamentary elections in May, but also for the Presidency of the House and even the Presidency of the Republic in 2028—although she herself keeps her cards tightly closed.
The MP, who served under the umbrella of the “New Forces” for three parliamentary terms, in her interview with “F” returns fire towards Ezekias Papaioannou (AKEL headquarters). She opens all the “wounds” to stress—addressing AKEL’s leadership—that: “Their reaction was indeed extreme and aimed at party entrenchment. The content of the announcement was humiliating,” and it saddened her. – The clash was not my choice, nor did I request independence. On the contrary, I had publicly stated that I would do whatever the leadership asked of me in order to facilitate them, out of respect for the people of the Left. Their reaction was indeed extreme and aimed at party entrenchment. The content of the announcement was humiliating. It saddened me. To think freely and independently, without party blinders, is not immorality; it is a responsibility toward society and one’s conscience. I was not in a position to answer whether I would choose to leave politics, because that is what they were asking me to do. I honored my contract with ΑΚΕΛ, but ours was a cooperation. I am not a party cadre. They themselves decided that I am no longer useful. It is their right. Citizens voted for me not because I was an obedient instrument of the leadership.
