Με λόγο αιχμηρό αλλά τεκμηριωμένο, η Ειρήνη Χαραλαμπίδου επιβεβαιώνει για ακόμη μία φορά γιατί ξεχωρίζει στη βουλευτική της πορεία και γιατί έχει κερδίσει την εκτίμηση πολιτών που αναζητούν καθαρές κουβέντες και πολιτικό θάρρος. Σε μια περίοδο όπου η σιωπή, οι υπεκφυγές και οι «ίσες αποστάσεις» τείνουν να γίνουν κανόνας, η βουλεύτρια δεν διστάζει να πει τα πράγματα με το όνομά τους, ακόμα κι όταν αυτό την φέρνει απέναντι σε ισχυρά κέντρα εξουσίας.
Η σημερινή της ανάρτηση αποτελεί μια ωμή αλλά αναγκαία υπενθύμιση ότι τα σκάνδαλα δεν ξεθωριάζουν με τον χρόνο, ούτε ακυρώνονται με την πολιτική λήθη. Αντίθετα, απαιτούν επιμονή, θεσμική μνήμη και πολιτική ευθύνη. Η Ειρήνη Χαραλαμπίδου δεν περιορίζεται σε γενικόλογες καταγγελίες. Παραθέτει γεγονότα, αναφορές, επίσημες εκθέσεις, επισημαίνει θεσμικές παραλείψεις και θέτει ευθέως ερωτήματα που κάποιοι προτιμούν να αποφεύγουν.
Αυτό ακριβώς είναι που τη διαφοροποιεί: η συνέπεια ανάμεσα στον λόγο και την πράξη, η άρνηση να «χαϊδέψει αυτιά» και η επιμονή της στη διαφάνεια, ακόμη και όταν οι θεσμοί εμφανίζονται απρόθυμοι να πράξουν το αυτονόητο. Σε μια χώρα όπου οι αποκαλύψεις συχνά σκοντάφτουν σε κλειστές πόρτες και πολιτικές συγκαλύψεις, η φωνή της παραμένει σταθερή και ενοχλητικά ξεκάθαρη.
Η Ειρήνη Χαραλαμπίδου δεν πολιτεύεται με μισόλογα. Και γι’ αυτό ακριβώς ξεχωρίζει. Μπορεί κανείς να διαφωνεί με το κόμμα της (το σημερινό ή το αυριανό), αλλά, αν θέλουμε να είμαστε αντικειμενικοί, την πυγμή της Ειρήνης ελάχιστοι την έχουν μέσα στη Βουλή· μια πυγμή που συνδυάζεται με τεκμηριωμένο λόγο. Γιατί υπάρχουν κι άλλοι που δείχνουν πυγμή, αλλά με λόγια ψεύτικα και προπαγάνδα.
Η Ειρήνη ανήκει στην πάστα των πολιτικών που ξέρουν να λένε τα πράγματα ξεκάθαρα, με την έννοια του «ξεκάθαρα» όπως την περιγράφουν τα λεξικά.

Στο Βίντεο όπου ο Λακκοτρυπης με την υπόλοιπη παρέα εξευτελίζουν τους Θεσμούς γίνεται αναφορά σε παρανομίες. Μετρητά ,για να σπάσει το πλαφόν του ενός εκ. . Επειδή η μνήμη είναι κοντή θυμίζω ότι για το ταμείο της πρώτης κυρίας έγιναν πολλές συνεδριάσεις στη Βουλή και υπήρξε απίστευτη επιμονή από το Προεδρικό, με συμβουλές και από τη Ν.Υ για αναφορά του νόμου ,της δημοσιοποίησης Νομικών προσώπων. Τον περασμένο Νοέμβρη η Ελεγκτική Υπηρεσία με έκθεση της κατακεραυνώνει με στοιχεία το ταμείο της Πρώτης Κυρίας σε σχέση με συνδιαλλαγές εταιριών με το κράτος, και σιωπούν . Ζητήσαμε γραπτώς να επανέλθει το θέμα με την έκθεση αλλά ο Πρόεδρος της Επιτροπής εδώ και τόσους μήνες αποφευγει. Συγκυβέρνηση βλέπετε.Η έκθεση είναι αναρτημένη στη ιστοσελίδα της ελεγκτικής .
Ο κ. Λακκοτρυπης αποδεικνύεται το παιδί για όλες τις κυβερνήσεις με διασυνδέσεις και ευφανταστες ιδέες . Τις είχε και για το Βασιλικό και κατέληξε η υπόθεση όπως γνωρίζουμε. Ο Πρόεδρος δεν απαντά επίσης επί της ουσίας. Ήταν τραγική η εικόνα του χθες. Είναι δύσκολο με κάλυψη της Προεδρίας και των απρόθυμων θεσμών να αποδειχτούν “μετρητά σε φακέλους”, και το ξέρει. Όποτε και η πρόκληση του είναι κενή περιεχομένου .Αν ο κάθε Λακκοτρυπης μιλά εξ ονόματος του και μαζεύει το χρήμα , αυτό από μόνο του λέει πολλά. Και ο Λακκοτρυπης δεν θα έπειθε κανέναν αν δεν άνοιγαν και οι πόρτες του Προεδρικού από τον κ. Χαραλαμπους ο οποίος είναι της απόλυτου εμπιστοσύνης του προέδρου καθότι και συγγενείς. Και δυστυχώς για νά αποκαλυφθούν τέτοιες αθέμιτες συναλλαγές , στην Κύπρο δεν γίνεται ποτέ δια της κανονικής οδού. Όπως είπα Απρόθυμοι θεσμοί. Όσο για τον “ξένο δάχτυλο” ναι δεν το αποκλείω , αλλά είναι αυτή η παρέα που έδωσε αφορμή να εκτεθεί η χώρα μας με τις εξυπνάδες και τις συναλλαγές κάτω από το τραπέζι. Η επιτομή της Πολιτικής Ανηθικότητας. Ξεκινά από την αντιγραφή μιας ομιλίας και καταλήγει σε επικίνδυνες συναλλαγές που εκθέτουν την χώρα. O Χριστοδουλίδης αποδεικνύεται άξιο παιδί του προκατόχου του με τους ίδιους συμβούλους και δυστυχώς τις ίδιες πρακτικές.
Irene Charalambidou on the “Epitome of Political Immorality”
With sharp yet well-documented discourse, Irene Charalambidou once again confirms why she stands out in her parliamentary career and why she has earned the respect of citizens who seek plain truths and political courage. At a time when silence, evasions, and “equal distances” tend to become the norm, the MP does not hesitate to call things by their name, even when doing so places her in direct confrontation with powerful centers of authority.
Her post today serves as a raw but necessary reminder that scandals do not fade with time, nor are they nullified by political amnesia. On the contrary, they demand persistence, institutional memory, and political accountability. Irene Charalambidou does not resort to vague accusations. She presents facts, references, official reports, highlights institutional omissions, and directly raises questions that some prefer to avoid.
This is precisely what sets her apart: consistency between words and actions, her refusal to “pander,” and her insistence on transparency, even when institutions appear reluctant to do what should be self-evident. In a country where revelations often hit closed doors and political cover-ups, her voice remains steady and uncomfortably clear.
Irene Charalambidou does not engage in politics with half-words. And that is exactly why she stands out. One may disagree with her party (today’s or tomorrow’s), but if we wish to be objective, very few in Parliament possess her resolve—a resolve combined with substantiated argumentation. Because there are others who project toughness, but do so with hollow words and propaganda.
Irene belongs to that breed of politicians who know how to speak plainly, in the true sense of the word “plainly,” as defined by the dictionaries.

In the video where Lakkotrypis and the rest of the group ridicule the institutions, there is reference to illegalities. Cash, in order to circumvent the one-million cap. Since memory tends to be short, I remind you that many sessions were held in Parliament regarding the First Lady’s fund, and there was incredible insistence from the Presidential Palace—along with advice from the Legal Service—on invoking the law concerning the disclosure of legal entities.
Last November, the Audit Office issued a report that strongly condemns, with evidence, the First Lady’s fund in relation to dealings between companies and the state—and yet there is silence. We formally requested that the issue be revisited based on the report, but for months now the Chairman of the Committee has been avoiding it. Coalition government, you see. Mr. Lakkotrypis proves to be the “go-to man” for all governments, with connections and fanciful ideas. He had them in the case of Vasilikos as well, and we know how that affair ended. The President, too, does not respond substantively. His image yesterday was tragic.
When there is cover from the Presidency and unwilling institutions, it is difficult to prove “cash in envelopes”—and he knows it. Therefore, his provocation is devoid of substance. If each Lakkotrypis speaks on his own behalf and collects money, that alone says a lot. And Lakkotrypis would not have convinced anyone had the doors of the Presidential Palace not also been opened by Mr. Charalambous, who enjoys the President’s absolute trust, being a relative as well.
And unfortunately, for such illicit transactions to be exposed in Cyprus, it never happens through the regular channels. As I said: unwilling institutions. As for the “foreign hand,” yes, I do not rule it out—but it was this very group that gave reason for our country to be exposed through their clever tricks and under-the-table dealings.
The epitome of political immorality. It starts with the plagiarism of a speech and ends with dangerous transactions that expose the country. Christodoulides proves to be a worthy successor of his predecessor, with the same advisers and, unfortunately, the same practices.
