Χθεσινή ανάρτηση Δημάρχου Πάφου Φαίδωνα Φαίδωνος:
Φίλες και φίλοι,
Έχουν περάσει πέραν των δύο εβδομάδων από την έναρξη της ενορχηστρωμένης επίθεσης εναντίον μου, με παράπλευρη απώλεια την ψυχική ηρεμία της οικογένειας μου.
Σας διαβεβαιώ, κατ’ αρχήν, ότι δεν διέπραξα κανένα από τα αδικήματα που ανακοινώνονται σκόπιμα για να με πλήξουν.
Ούτε έχω ερωτηθεί από την Αστυνομία για οτιδήποτε.
Δεν υπάρχει καμία αμφιβολία ότι τα συμφέροντα έχουν αποθρασυνθεί και συνασπιστεί για να με εξοντώσουν. Αν παρατηρήσετε ποιοι ενορχηστρώνουν επιθέσεις εναντίον μου θα καταλάβετε πώς αυτές σχετίζονται με τις καταγγελίες μου για ναρκωτικά, ξέπλυμα μαύρου χρήματος και πολλές άλλες παράνομες πράξεις τους.
Είναι πέραν από προφανές ότι έχει και σκοπό να αποπροσανατολίσει από το ρεζιλίκι του videogate και τις χρηματοδοτήσεις για την προεκλογική του Προέδρου το 2023 και το 2028 και με ανάμειξη του Ταμείου Στήριξης της Πρώτης Κυρίας.Το πλέον σημαντικό στην υπόθεση «videogate» είναι ότι είχε στηθεί ένας μηχανισμός όπου οι επιχειρηματίες υπό τον μανδύα των «φιλάνθρωπων» κατέβαλλαν χρήματα αναμένοντας εξυπηρετήσεις.
Εγώ είμαι εδώ. Πάντα ήμουν εδώ. Ας τα ψάξουν όλα και ας με κατηγορήσουν με πραγματικά στοιχεία επιτέλους, και να αποφασίσει η Δικαιοσύνη. Αλλιώς θα αποδειχθεί ότι αυτό που επιδιώκουν είναι η επ’ αόριστον πολιτική μου ομηρία με έρευνες, και πιθανές μακρόσυρτες δικαστικές διαδικασίες. Αν από την άλλη στοχεύουν σε λαϊκή δίκη εναντίον μου είμαι έτοιμος να απαντήσω δημόσια για οτιδήποτε. Θα απαντήσω εμπεριστατωμένα για οτιδήποτε μου καταλογίζουν.
Δεν ζητώ καμία ευνοϊκή μεταχείριση. Ζητώ από έντιμους λειτουργούς του κράτους να αντιδράσουν και να ενεργήσουν με αντικειμενικότητα και χωρίς ποταπά κίνητρα. Αυτό που συμβαίνει είναι οργανωμένο και μεθοδευμένο έγκλημα σε βάρος μου και σε βάρος της κοινωνίας.
Η Κύπρος μετατρέπεται σε μια απόλυτα διεφθαρμένη χώρα με ένα κράτος ξηλωμένο που προωθεί την διαφθορά και προστατεύει τα μεγάλα συμφέροντα. Ας μην τους αφήσουμε να μετατρέψουν τη χώρα μας σε Τουρκία με μεθόδους «Ερντογάν» για εξόντωση των αντιπάλων τους.
Εάν επιτύχουν, δεν θα αρκεστούν σε μένα. Θα συνεχίσουν και με άλλους. Αν καταφέρουμε όμως να απαλλάξουμε την χώρα μας από αυτά τα κυκλώματα αυτό θα είναι νίκη του λαού.

More than two weeks have passed since the launch of an orchestrated attack against me, with the collateral damage being the peace of mind of my family.
First and foremost, I assure you that I have committed none of the offences that are deliberately being announced in order to harm me.
Nor have I been questioned by the Police about anything.
There is no doubt that vested interests have grown emboldened and have united in an effort to destroy me. If you observe who is orchestrating the attacks against me, you will understand how they are connected to my complaints regarding drugs, money laundering, and many other illegal acts on their part.
It is more than obvious that this also aims to divert attention from the disgrace of “videogate” and the funding related to the President’s 2023 and 2028 election campaigns, with the involvement of the First Lady’s Support Fund. The most important aspect of the “videogate” case is that a mechanism had been set up whereby businesspeople, under the guise of “philanthropists,” were paying money while expecting favours in return.
I am here. I have always been here. Let everything be investigated and let them finally charge me with real evidence, so that Justice may decide. Otherwise, it will be proven that what they seek is my indefinite political hostage-taking through investigations and potentially prolonged court proceedings. If, on the other hand, they are aiming for a public trial against me, I am ready to respond publicly to anything. I will respond thoroughly to every allegation made against me.
I am not asking for any favourable treatment. I ask honest state officials to react and act with objectivity and without base motives. What is happening is organised and premeditated wrongdoing against me and against society.
Cyprus is being turned into a completely corrupt country, with a dismantled state that promotes corruption and protects major interests. Let us not allow them to turn our country into Turkey, using “Erdogan-style” methods to eliminate their opponents.
If they succeed, they will not stop with me. They will continue with others. But if we manage to rid our country of these circles, that will be a victory for the people.
