Το ζήτημα της φοιτητικής χορηγίας και η ανάγκη για εκσυγχρονισμό των κριτηρίων και των ποσών που τη διέπουν, επανέρχεται δυναμικά στο προσκήνιο, μέσα από τη συνεδρία της Κοινοβουλευτικής Επιτροπής Παιδείας. Ο βουλευτής Λάρνακας του ΔΗΣΥ, Πρόδρομος Αλαμπρίτης, τονίζει την ανάγκη για ουσιαστικές αλλαγές, επισημαίνοντας ότι τα ποσά και τα εισοδηματικά όρια παραμένουν αμετάβλητα εδώ και χρόνια, παρά τις κοινωνικοοικονομικές εξελίξεις. Φοιτητική Χορηγία – Ώρα για ουσιαστικές αλλαγές
Η αναθεώρηση των εισοδηματικών κριτηρίων και των παρεχόμενων ποσών στη φοιτητική χορηγία ήταν ένα ζήτημα που ανέδειξα επανειλημμένα, τόσο προσωπικά όσο και ως Δημοκρατικός Συναγερμός, τα τελευταία χρόνια.
Στη σημερινή συνεδρία της Κοινοβουλευτικής Επιτροπής Παιδείας, συζητήσαμε το θέμα της φοιτητικής χορηγίας και την πρόταση για κατάργηση των εισοδηματικών κριτηρίων για οικογένειες με τέσσερα ή περισσότερα παιδιά. Παρά τη διαφωνία του Υπουργείου Οικονομικών ως προς την συνταγματικότητα, θεωρούμε ότι πρέπει να ανοίξει συνολική συζήτηση για το ζήτημα της φοιτητικής χορηγίας.
Τα ποσά και τα κριτήρια παραμένουν τα ίδια από την εποχή της θέσπισής τους. Είναι καιρός να προχωρήσουμε σε ουσιαστική αναθεώρηση, με επέκταση των εισοδηματικών κριτηρίων, αύξηση των ποσών και στήριξη των οικογενειών με δύο ή περισσότερα παιδιά που σπουδάζουν ταυτόχρονα.

Student Grant – Time for Meaningful Changes
The revision of the income criteria and the amounts provided under the student grant has been an issue I have repeatedly raised, both personally and on behalf of the Democratic Rally, over the past years.
During today’s session of the Parliamentary Committee on Education, we discussed the student grant issue and the proposal to abolish income criteria for families with four or more children. Despite the Ministry of Finance’s disagreement concerning the constitutionality of the proposal, we believe that a broader discussion on the student grant system must begin.
The amounts and criteria have remained the same since their establishment. It is time to proceed with a meaningful review — expanding income criteria, increasing the amounts, and supporting families with two or more children studying simultaneously.
