Το κράτος να βρει τη βούληση, την ικανότητα και το σχέδιο να αναμετρηθεί με υπόκοσμο
Τα τελευταία 24ωρα επιβεβαίωσαν ότι το οργανωμένο έγκλημα και ο υπόκοσμος έχει αποθρασυνθεί παντελώς. Εγχώρια και ξένα εγκληματικά δίκτυα, σεσημασμένα πρόσωπα του οργανωμένου εγκλήματος αλωνίζουν με θράσος σε όλη την Κύπρο επειδή οι αρχές δείχνουν ανήμπορες και απρόθυμες να τα βάλουν μαζί τους.
Δικαιολογίες δεν υπάρχουν για τις αρχές και τους κυβερνώντες. Έχουν στη διάθεσή τους όλα τα νομικά εργαλεία και κανένα νομοσχέδιο δεν εκκρεμεί ενώπιον της Βουλής. Αυτό που δεν υπάρχει είναι βούληση, ικανότητα και σχέδιο να κτυπηθεί το οργανωμένο έγκλημα και να αναμετρηθεί το κράτος με τον υπόκοσμο, όποιες πλάτες και όποια δύναμη κι αν έχουν.
Το ΑΚΕΛ αλλά και ολόκληρη η κοινωνία αναμένει από την κυβέρνηση και τον αρμόδιο Υπουργό πράξεις και αποτελέσματα που να εμπεδώνουν την ασφάλεια και το αίσθημα ασφάλειας των πολιτών.

The state must find the will, the ability, and the plan to confront the underworld.
The past 24 hours have confirmed that organized crime and the underworld have become completely brazen. Domestic and foreign criminal networks, as well as notorious figures from organized crime, are roaming freely across Cyprus because the authorities appear powerless and unwilling to confront them.
There are no excuses for the authorities or the government. They have at their disposal all the legal tools, and no bill is pending before the Parliament. What is lacking is the will, the ability, and the plan to strike organized crime and for the state to confront the underworld, no matter what backing or power it possesses.
AKEL, as well as society as a whole, expects from the government and the responsible Minister actions and results that will ensure both the security and the sense of security of citizens.
